I think data collection is vital to improving classroom dynamics and student success. If your students are struggling or do not connect with the way you are teaching things such as surveys can help improve this. When collecting data such as this educators can see if they need to try a different tactic or completely change their strategy. It also makes the students feel heard. When teaching 7th grade science I think it can be beneficial in finding out if the students are more visual or hands-on learners. It can also be useful in this grade level because students at this age can be going through changes they are struggling with and surveys can help them feel understood.     I think learning about what my peers felt about distance learning was very interesting. I know what my feelings are on distance learning but seeing that a lot of other people felt the same way made me more comfortable. There were also others that had a different view than me and allo...

Distance learning has been difficult for me because I learn better in a traditional classroom with more personal connection. Over the course of online learning I have procrastinated more than usual and have not been able to retain as much information. I like the aspect of having more control over my schedule and being able to work. Everyone learns differently, but when I am a teacher I will try to cater to each student. Making the majority of the lesson interactive where every student can be involved is something I will try to implement.     Open Educational Resources can be a variety of resources; that are mostly found online, and they can be used by anyone free of charge because they are easily accessible. Free resources like these have the goal of improving education by making information available to students and teachers. An article I found lists 16 open educational resources that can be useful for finding free or extremely discounted textbo...

Although I found creating a website very time consuming and difficult I still found that I learned valuable skills. Learning how to create a visually appealing website will help with disseminating information coherently to my future students. i enjoyed learning how to shorten the URLs and how to structure a website that is easy to navigate. I might try to use a different platform to create websites in the future that are a little easier to use.  Riley's Website I think the Diigo extension is a very useful tool for research purposes. I think being able to organize and bookmark information makes it easy to go back and look at information you might need in the future. Annotating is another aspect I felt was useful because it helps me retain information and I could use this in my future as a teacher. I found it kind of confusing at first but as I utilize Diigo more the easier it has become. Technology will keep playing a prominent role in the classroom and it is our responsibilit...

Using Diigo was challenging for me at first because I do not have much experience using online platforms besides Twitter, Instagram, and other social media sites. As I learned to navigate the site I realized that it is a useful tool that I will be able to use for future projects and jobs. One of my favorite parts about Diigo is being able to leave comments on specific parts of a work and seeing other members comments. This allows me to get insight from my peers and expand my thinking on specific topics that I do not know much about.     I have enjoyed blogging because I like to know what other people think about certain topics and I think it is a great way to connect with peers and even strangers. I have experience with blogging in the past but using this platform has shown me better ways to set up my blogs that are user friendly. One aspect I do not like about blogger in particular is that it takes a while to learn how to set up a user friendly blog ...

I have been using twitter since 2013 and it has always been a great source of information. I use it to keep up with sports, current events, and to have a laugh. For the most part I follow my friends, comedians, newscasters, and celebrities. Twitter has been a great social media app over the years to keep up with what is going on in the world. In the future twitter can help me connect with people with professions that are in a similar field. This will give me more opportunities to learn new ideas and ways of teaching.     Depending on the school the digital divide can have a gar reaching impact on how students learn and the opportunities they are given. As technology use becomes more prevalent in schools and the work force the disparities between those with access and those without will become greater. Students with little to no access to technology will most likely fall behind because more and more aspects of life are becoming digitized...
