Hello everyone, my name is Riley Hammar. I was born and raised in Tallahassee and being a Seminole is something that was ingrained in me since a young age. I am a senior here at FSU and am planning to graduate this spring with a bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Education. I am applying to several schools after I graduate to get my Bachelors in Nursing and hope to be a traveling nurse. I usually spend my time hanging out with my friends and playing sports. I have always loved to travel and my favorite place that I have been to is definitely Ireland.
My skills using technology are definitely lacking and I do not want that to be my downfall in my career. Although my skills are not great I have definitely learned a lot in my four years at FSU. A main reason was a research methods class that I took and it taught me how to use several different systems to analyze and compute statistical data. I am fairly proficient using Microsoft word and powerpoint because I have had to use these in just about every class that I have taken. I have only used excel once or twice so I am not very confident with it.
My personal learning network was not well founded when I first started at FSU. I was used to doing things myself so I did not rely on anything other than myself and searching things on google and youtube. However, I realized this was holding me back so I have expanded my PLN to include a multitude of other things and people. I now use my friends and family as resources in my personal and academic life as well as scholarly articles and books from the library to get my information. Professors have also influenced me by giving me constructive criticism and staying in touch with them throughout my college career.
